Okay, so here's the thing... Donald Trump is the president-elect of the United States of America. Wonderful sturv! Not many people from the international community would've seen this happening from the start (I did tho, the thing is *straightens agbada*, I see things, okay? And I'm about to commercialize that talent, wait on it).

On a real though, how the United States of America came to have these two controversial individuals as frontliners for the Presidential election still baffles me. Goes to show we live in crazy times mahn, any damn thing is possible. Never in the history of the United States has an individual, bereft of any previous political or military records, emerged as president. Well, America can tick that off their to-do list, it has happened.
Now, I'm not here to gauge his qualifications (what good would that do?) or where both Candidates got it right/wrong (we're wayyy past that), I'm here trying to look at where the world goes from here.
Sincerely, from Donald Trump's campaign, I could only single out 3 focal points, all bordering on America's foreign policy, namely;
1) Woo President Vladimir Putin and the Russian nation (I personally hope this happens, the world doesn't need these two fighting abeg)
2) Evict the Mexicans (Choi! Qué hemos hecho - Spanish for, "what have we done?")
3) Make countries pay handsomely for America's protection. (Do they protect Nigeria?? Hell nahh! The Lord is our protector.. Even if they did, they'd have to do it on credit, our ATM is not dispensing *frowns*)
My take? Well, Trump doesn't look like he'll take sh*t from anybody. But herein lies the problem, the United States is a big brother to most other nations of the world. It is in a big brother's civic responsibilities to take sh*t from his younger ones; the youngings are the only ones "allowed" to sulk and throw tantrums. Taking sh*t, and playing the big brother role has characterized the entirety of Barrack Obama's administration and he did it with so much grace, poise and "swag". I'm here wondering what would happen if one day America decides to "throw tantrums"..... Take a moment to think about it.... The after-effects would be catastrophic to say the least.
I'm not even in the least bothered about the talks of restructuring the immigration laws or as we've chosen to term it; the kicking out of non-Americans. Come on mahn, there are processes to these things. Age long policies are not so easy to change or rearrange. One must consider the variables, culminating effects of taking such decisions. America won't gain sh*t from "kicking out" foreigners. Trump is an astute businessman, I like to think that he's a billionaire who made most of his money by looking at the bigger picture and doing what's best for business.
Ejecting a sizeable chunk of your workforce without tested parameters to keep things afloat is economic suicide. So, to the immigrants in the U.S., if your papers are complete and up to date, you pay your taxes, and you mind your business and stay out of trouble; there's really nothing to fear. Nothing dey happen, na me talk am. The political and social institutions in the United States are among the strongest in the world, the bureaucratic structure is sometimes mind boggling; so, invariably, there would be parameters in place to checkmate/curb the excesses of any president who doesn't seem to respect the rule of law (I HOPE). No be Naija, nor worry.
Besides, Alagba Trump made it known today that he would be "President to ALL Americans", how he intends to do that remains to be seen, especially when you take his statements during the campaign into consideration, but I pray he's true to his words sha albeit, his most recent words..lol.
There are fears, I can't lie. I have them too. Mr. Trump's victory would probably serve as a precedent for some unpalatable occurrence, as today's; when a Dutch MP and anti-Islam campaigner Geert Wilders, while congratulating Trump, said ‘A historic victory! A revolution! We too will give our country back to the Dutch!,’. Amen, somebody...? Does that sound similar to Trump's campaign tonality? Doesn't take a genius to figure out the correlation, it's not shaa Tekno's very deep and profound song lyrics.
From a completely different perspective though, I think that Donald Trump's victory signifies the fact that when you add resilience and mental strength to hard work (did I also mention LOTS OF MONEY and A SMOKING HOT WIFE?), you can be all you set out to be, and more.
Just so y'all know, my political discussions are usually wayyyyy deeper than this, I just came down to your level so that you won't get lost in the conversation *dodges stones*.. Remember this favor I have done y'all and repay me when I contest for a senatorial seat in the coming years.

Congratulations to the President-elect of the United States of America, the soon-to-be most powerful man in the free world; Alhaji Chief Dr. Donald Babatunde AbdulWahab Binutiri Ifechukwude Trump (I hope you remember all these titles and Nigerian names I gave you free of charge when you think about shutting off our internet).
Till the next time... One love, baby!
P.S. I'm responsible for what I say and not how you understand it.
